How do you make Fragrance Fuel for Fragrance Lamps? - fragrance lamps

I have 2 of them for Christmas, and I know how I make my own fuel. I tried a recipe and now I can not keep burning the wick. The recipe uses 16 fl oz. 91% isopropyl alcohol and .3 OZ Fragrance Oil. I bought the oil at Wal-Mart, because I had read that some people use. It's called oil recycling potpourri and comes in a bottle is very low. I like my own, because fuel is so expensive to buy. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for any help!
